Embrace The Adventure
A community of people choosing to live unconventional lives filled with adventure.
Last month I shared how we brilliantly made the decision to escape the bitter arctic cold and icy snowstorms before it all wrecked havoc across our country.
We enjoyed two weeks in Sedona, detoxing from holiday food, hiking many new trails, and reconnecting as a couple. Next we spent two weeks in Pagosa Springs, watching foxes, staring at snowcapped mountains, and dreaming about our future travel plans.
All of it felt like a euphoric high created by the best drugs money can buy, only we don’t know what it’s like to take drugs or be high despite being in Colorado. 😜 Joking aside, it’s just not easy to put into words how adventure travel makes us feel. It’s an incredible sensation that always makes us want more.
This is also why I shared our plans for Road Life in 2025 and how I intend to double down on this venture for the future. Because we love it.
As part of the ongoing process of evaluating how we achieve our goals, along with considerations about all things tech and Substack, I’ve decided to make some small tweaks and move properties around.
You might notice this publication was renamed and the URL changed to RoadLifeAdventures.com, while the other name, RoadLifeMagazine.com was moved to a new platform called Ghost.
Without boring you of all the nitty-gritty, the updates were made for these reasons:
To separate content. The educational type content will be housed on our magazine website while the community driven content will remain here.
To protect our assets. Platforms all experience problems and Substack is no exception. I’m taking precaution to ensure we reduce potential data loss.
To build SEO. I absolutely hate Google but we’re also a content focused business so we must diversify our online strategies.
To grow our brand. Long-term I see this becoming something larger than an adventure travel publication so I’m building for that future.
Ultimately though, I see Road Life Adventures as being the community of people who have already chosen to live an unconventional life, as opposed to those who are just starting to kicking the tires.
This will be the place where everyone is welcome to share their stories, expertise, knowledge, or resources for the adventure travel lifestyle. And I think this is the perfect platform for that interactive and personal content.
For all of our current friends here, this changes nothing.
You’ll still have access to all our current and future content, though we’re striving to reorganize it for a better experience overall. You won’t have to sign up over there as I’ll export our current list (with your approval of course). And all of you will be given insider access to some really cool stuff coming soon because we appreciate you.
Of course we welcome your candid feedback. We love it when people share their ideas and opinions because we’re building something amazing together. ♥️
And isn’t that the true spirit of community?
Donetta and I don’t know where this is all going but we’re embracing the adventure. I think that’s the beauty of it all … not knowing and just experiencing what comes.
Stay tuned for some new travel articles we’re working on, along with the personal interviews coming down the road. We’ve met some really cool people and can’t wait to share their stories with ya.
Keep warm and safe!
